Mark your calendars for next Tuesday, May 10th! The Bay County Small Business Grant Program will be going live at 12:00 pm.
We’re excited to share this opportunity with Bay County Small Businesses and thank the Bay County Board of Commissioners and the Bay County Executive’s Office and Bay County Administration for allocating the funds necessary to make this program a reality.
Eligible businesses include, for-profit entities with 2-50 total employees (including full time, part time, and owner-employees) with a brick and mortar location in Bay County, Michigan.
This grant program leverages funding through Bay County’s ARPA dollars to help reduce the economic impact of the ongoing pandemic on Bay County small businesses and workers, with a minimum 30% required to be awarded to eligible women-owned, minority-owned or veteran-owned businesses.
The $1,000,000 grant program to support small businesses and industries disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 Gatherings and Mask Order will specifically fund:
$900,000 to small businesses including food service establishments, retail, and recreational facilities, among others

$4.8 Million Development Project in Downtown Bay City
The 1108 Water Street project will redevelop two adjacent historic buildings in downtown Bay City. When completed, the development will include first floor space that will be occupied by North Peak Brewing Company and Kilkenny Irish Pub, with three loft-style apartments on the second floor.
The project is expected to generate a total capital investment of $4.8 million and result in the creation of 30 full-time equivalent jobs. Once complete, it will contribute to the vibrancy, density and walkability of historic downtown Bay City. Read full press release here
