Women Who Soar: Honoring Excellence in STEM and Aerospace |
In March, the AIAM Foundation celebrated Women’s History Month through its Women Who Soar campaign, raising $11,365 to support educational and community programs. The campaign recognized 40 individuals in aerospace and STEM as “Plane Awesome” for their outstanding contributions and leadership. |
|
A special thank you to I.F. Metalworks for matching up to $5,000 in donations, and to our corporate sponsors: Autocam Medical, DornerWorks, LTD, Liebherr Aerospace Saline, and Moeller Aerospace. We also acknowledge Barron Industries and Tripe, Inc. for their generous support in honoring individuals within their teams. Campaign funds supported the She Innovates, She Leads program, featured at the Region 12 Science Olympiad on March 29 at Grand Valley State University. Over 150 students visited our interactive booth, where volunteer professionals in STEM and sustainability fields guided them through a hands-on assembly line experience. Students explored the lifecycle of a product—from creation to delivery—gaining real-world insight into the value of each role in manufacturing. Thank you to everyone who made this initiative a success and helped inspire the next generation of STEM talent. |

From Grand Ledge to the Stars: Student Space Experiment to Launch |
The AIAM Foundation is proud to celebrate the success of the Higher Orbits Go For Launch! event held in Grand Ledge in December 2024, where we served as a Lunar Rover Sponsor. Nearly 40 high school students participated in the event, part of a nationally recognized STEM program that challenges students to work in teams to design real spaceflight experiments. |

We’re thrilled to announce that Team Gear Heads, from the Grand Ledge event, has been selected as one of the national winners from the 2024 Go For Launch! series. Their experiment will be launched into space—either aboard the International Space Station or on a suborbital flight—later this year or early next year. This exciting achievement reflects the talent, creativity, and teamwork that the program fosters. The AIAM Foundation is honored to support initiatives like Go For Launch! that inspire students to reach new heights and pursue futures in aerospace and STEM. Congratulations to Team Gear Heads—we’re excited to watch your idea take flight! |
