DEARBORN, Mich., (April 10, 2025) — AAA – The Auto Club Group teamed up with the Sister Accord Foundation to offer “Safety in Sisterhood” – a resource for women and solo travelers who travel locally or abroad. The “Safety in Sisterhood” resource offers tips and strategies to help women and solo travelers be prepared and protected, no matter the destination.
“Traveling alone as a woman can be empowering and exciting, yet there is a certain level of risk that comes with traveling alone,” said Debbie Haas, Vice President of Travel for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “We want to equip travelers with resources, such as guided vacations, and advice so they can safely and confidently travel and explore new destinations and experiences.”
AAA – The Auto Club Group worked with the Sister Accord Foundation to develop this resource. The mission of the Sister Accord Foundation is to develop and empower women and girls through education and leadership development. These insights, coupled with AAA’s travel expertise and offerings, were the foundation for this partnership and tool that includes:
- Clever tips for women to stay safe while in a hotel
- Accessibility and safety tips for travelers
- Apps and tools that can serve as resources for women travelers on the go
- Car rental tips for solo travelers
- Tips for first time travelers and international travelers
