Sault Tribe, Incorporated (STI) is the independent business arm of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. Chartered with the responsibility for enterprise and business development, STI serves as a holding company for a growing number of enterprise businesses and joint ventures.

Wholly owned by the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, STI employs a proven and commonly used tribal enterprise structure; a Section 17 federal corporate charter. This approach provides a clean separation from Tribal government administrative functions and enables our unique strategic economic focus while retaining all of the benefits afforded to Tribal governments.
