On May 1, CMS Energy President and CEO, John Russell, gave a presentation during the Michigan-based company’s annual meeting in Jackson. Russell highlighted the company’s successful performance, including the work of Consumers Energy to deliver electricity and natural gas safely, affordably, reliably and sustainably to 6.6 million of Michigan’s 10 million residents.
Russell also noted the company’s commitment to sustainability. Consumers Energy will be retiring seven of its coal-fired generating plants, or one third of its generating fleet, in 2016. That represents a larger percentage than all but one other energy provider nationally.
