Chris Holman talks with Mike Busley, of Grand Traverse Pie Company. They currently have 15 Grand Traverse Pie shops across Michigan and Indiana, with the first opening 20 years ago. It all started in Traverse City.
Mike is traveling around the state promoting National Pie Day, which is on January 23. On this day Grand Traverse Pie Company offers a free slice of apple or cherry crumb pie at its stores. In addition, Mike is promoting their latest member to its pie family, the Michigan Apple Honey Pie. There is no sugar in this pie, just Michigan honey harvested at Sleeping Bear Farms. The bees on this farm are critical to apples and cherries, as well as the honey in this pie.
