Auto sales bounced back in February after a lackluster start to the year amid favorable economic conditions, deeper discounts and pent-up demand among shoppers who put off buying a car in January because of a late-month blizzard on the East Coast.
Crain’s tallied 138 deals in Michigan last year with a minimum deal value of $10 million, for a total of $101.6 billion. Both numbers are records since Crain’s started running its list of big deals more than two decades ago.
Wayne County could emerge from a financial emergency later this year after eliminating health care liabilities and an $82 million accumulated deficit.
