Closures Extended for 12 Days
Today, Governor Whitmer and MDHHS Director Robert Gordon issued an extension of the ‘three-week pause’ for 12 more days, until December 20, 2020. As a reminder, the MDHHS orders include the following:

- Bars and restaurants must remain closed for dine-in service, but can remain open for outdoor dining, carry-out and delivery.
- Gyms are open for individual exercise with mandatory masking and additional strict safety measures.
- Casinos, movie theaters and group exercise classes remain closed.
The MDHHS also issued guidance on the three metrics that will be used to determine when this pause may end, including hospital capacity, overall case rate and percent positivity. When these metrics improve, the document indicates that re-openings will be considered for: high schools, as well as theaters, casinos, auditoriums, stadiums, bowling, arcades and bingo, without concessions.
