LANSING, Mich.  – Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed three bipartisan bills to expand access to mental health care, streamline government services, and protect consumer data from being irresponsibly used or shared.

“Michiganders deserve systems that work for them,” said Governor Whitmer. “I’m proud to sign these three bipartisan bills that protect people’s data, make it easier to access important information, and expand opportunities for Michiganders to get the health care they need. Let’s keep working to make Michigan a place where everyone can thrive.”

Senate Bill 413, sponsored by state Senator Paul Wojno, expands access to mental health care by modernizing licensing requirements for limited license psychologists to help increase access to mental health care.

Senate Bill 198, sponsored by state Senator Sam Singh, prohibits third parties from accessing protected auto dealer customer data without prior authorization, ensuring proper protections are in place, and keeping consumers safe.

Senate Bill 102, sponsored by state Senator Paul Wojno, increases county tax document request efficiency making it easier to get information for economic projects, housing research, and public use.
