LANSING, Mich. – The Hospitality Training Institute of Michigan (HTIM) is launching Pure Hospitality, a new course designed to help professionals create exceptional guest experiences by equipping grads with the skills they need to stand out in the hospitality industry.

The online skill-strengthening course takes about two hours to complete and costs $40 for Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association (MRLA) members and $50 for non-members. Interested students can purchase the course at www.htim.com/pure-hospitality.

“Pure Hospitality builds on HTIM’s ongoing commitment to equip Michigan residents with the tools they need to thrive in the hospitality industry. It gives them a new way to step up in their careers, with a focus on soft skills and consistency,” said Amanda Smith, HTIM executive director. “This course highlights real-life stories and lessons from Michigan professionals and shows how guest interactions can turn into memorable experiences. It’s practical experience for employees, and it’s easy for employers to support them throughout. We’re excited to help participants take this next step in their careers.”

Pure Hospitality covers topics such as how authentic guest interactions can invite repeat visitors and how confidence in your role puts guests at ease.  Upon completion of the course, participants will earn a Pure Hospitality certification while building the skills to lead in the industry. Pure Hospitality joins HTIM’s existing Hospitality Business Management 12-week course and 4-week financial management course, which have been offered to nearly 3,000 graduates statewide since 2023. HTIM also offers training on location for employers looking to bring a customized training program to their entire team.

Michigan’s hospitality industry generates nearly $44.6 billion in annual sales and is the state’s second-largest private employer of nearly half a million residents. As an integral part of Michigan’s economy, HTIM’s training programs provide an avenue for employees to grow and develop, building a stronger workforce here in Michigan.

Interested students and employers are encouraged to register or learn more about the Pure Hospitality course at HTIM.com/pure-hospitality
