From the Desk of Michigan Chief Mobility Officer Justine Johnson:
Dear Partners,
The start of this Pure Michigan summer has been jam-packed with industry events gathering stakeholders across policy, economic development, transportation, manufacturing, and more. I kicked my summer off participating in my third Mackinac Policy Conference showcasing the impact our collective work makes in moving the industry forward. Following MPC we jumped directly into ITS America and then Reindustrailize highlighting opportunities for innovation across land, air, water, and space. The full innovation ecosystem came together and highlighted the opportunities we have for everyone to Make it in Michigan.
This summer remember that — whether you’re driving up north to the cabin, biking on Belle Isle, or boating on one of our thousands of lakes — with the right partners, there is opportunity for innovation around every corner.

Michigan Auto Supplier Transition Program (MAST-P)
The Michigan Auto Supplier Transition Program (MAST-P) has officially launched, introducing a statewide initiative designed to help Michigan’s small manufacturers in the internal combustion engine (ICE) industry successfully diversify into emerging manufacturing opportunities including defense, aerospace, electric vehicles (EV), clean energy and other adjacent industries.
Through a combination of technical assistance, financial guidance and educational resources, eligible companies accepted into MAST-P can access these services at no cost through grant funding supporting the program. The initiative aims to help very small businesses — particularly those with less than 10 employees — modernize operations, diversify capabilities and position themselves for long-term growth in a rapidly evolving mobility landscape.
