MBN: CL ice skating

LANSING, MICH. – April 16, 2026 – Greater Lansing will welcome approximately 1,000 athletes from around the world as the Lansing Sports Commission® hosts the U.S. Figure Skating Nations’ Cup & Gold Cup Theatre on Ice Competition, taking place April 23–26 at Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing.
Hosted in partnership with Harmony on Ice and Icehouse Skating Academy, this prestigious event will bring together 48 teams, including four adaptive teams, for a unique competition that blends figure skating with storytelling, choreography and performance. Of the 48 teams, 22 represent international programs, including France, Canada, Australia and Switzerland.

“Welcoming teams from around the world for the Nations’ Cup is an exciting opportunity for our community,” said Meghan Ziehmer, Executive Director of the Lansing Sports Commission. “We’re honored to host this international event and showcase Greater Lansing as a destination for world-class competition.”

Held every other year, the Nations’ Cup & Adult Gold Cup is an international Theatre on Ice competition featuring teams selected by their country’s governing bodies. Theatre on Ice combines figure skating with elements of theater and dance, with teams performing choreographed programs that are judged on both technical skill and artistic presentation.

Spectator tickets are available, and community members are encouraged to attend and experience this international event firsthand.
