Cinnaire has been named one of the 2026 Best Nonprofits to Work For by the Nonprofit Times, earning an outstanding #3 ranking out of 50 organizations nationwide. This recognition places Cinnaire among the very best nonprofit employers in the country and reflects the culture our staff helps build every day.

At Cinnaire, our commitment to expanding opportunities and building healthy, vibrant communities begins with supporting the people who make that work possible. This national recognition affirms our belief that when employees feel valued, supported, and empowered, they are better equipped to advance our mission.

A Workplace Built Around People

The Best Nonprofits to Work For award is based on a comprehensive evaluation of workplace policies, leadership practices, and confidential employee feedback. The program honors the best employers in the nonprofit industry, benefitting the industry’s economy, workforce, and business.

Cinnaire offers a range of benefits designed to promote well-being and work/life balance. Full-time employees receive unlimited paid time off, a comprehensive benefits package, company-paid cell phone services, and an on-site fitness center at our Lansing headquarters. Recognizing that flexibility matters, employees may work from home, in an office, or a hybrid model that fits their needs.

The health and well-being of our staff is a top priority. Our employee wellness program, including paid gym memberships, supports both physical and mental wellness. An open-door policy and regular conversations with the CEO foster transparency, trust, and open dialogue across the organization. Cinnaire also provides paid volunteer time, encouraging staff to engage in service activities that connect directly to the communities we serve.

A Culture of Service

Cinnaire’s culture of service is further strengthened by Cinnaire Cares, a 100% employee-driven initiative launched in 2017. Through volunteer efforts and financial contributions, staff lead the way in supporting nonprofit partners across our footprint. From neighborhood cleanups to hurricane relief to cash awards for mission-driven organizations, employees decide how time and resources are directed.

Since its inception, Cinnaire Cares has raised more than $379,000 to directly support 74 mission-driven organizations across our geography.

Recognition Powered by Our People

“This recognition is especially meaningful because it is driven by employee feedback,” said Mark McDaniel, Cinnaire President and CEO. “Ranking third among the nation’s best nonprofits to work for reflects the trust, engagement, and shared sense of purpose our team brings to their work each day. Our people are central to our mission, and this honor belongs to them.”

We are deeply grateful to our staff for making Cinnaire not just a great place to work, but a place where people feel supported, connected, and inspired to make a difference.
