SBAM: 27 Mission-Driven Organizations Graduate from 1st Statewide Social Enterprise Collective

Michigan Business Network: Small Business Association of Michigan

MBN: CSEDLansing, MI  Twenty-seven organizations from across the state have taken the next step in their growth, as they completed a program specifically designed to take mission-driven businesses to the next level.

The Center for Social Enterprise Development (CSED) successfully concluded its first Social Enterprise Collective, which aims to increase the sustainability and impact of mission-driven businesses. The inaugural cohort is supported by Incompass Michigan and the Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM), who sponsored workshops and technical training sessions over the past 6 months.

“As Michigan’s small business community grows, so does its collective impact,” said Brian Calley, President and CEO of SBAM. “Equipping these mission-driven organizations with advanced financing, marketing and legal strategies primes them for sustained growth and success that benefits our entire state.”

“We are incredibly proud of the dedication shown by these organizations as they prepare for the next level of growth,” said Laurie Morse-Dell, CIO of Incompass Michigan. “Through the technical assistance offered by the Social Enterprise Collective, these organizations are poised to thrive and serve their communities well into the future.”

CSED accelerates the development of small businesses and nonprofit organizations that measure their success by the lives they change. Click here for a list of all 27 organizations that participated in the first cohort of the Social Enterprise Collective.
