The following is a letter from Mark McDaniel, the founder of Pancake Paloozaa
Pancake Palooza is just a few days away, and I’m excited to step up as a Star Server again this year. This event always brings out the best kind of fun. I am fully embracing my role as The Pancake man, and I promise there will be plenty of laughs this Saturday, February 28, at 8:00 a.m. at 2|42 Community Church in Okemos.
Behind all the fun is a purpose that means a great deal to me. Pancake Palooza has helped raise more than $282,000 to support families facing homelessness. Childhood homelessness is a recognized Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) with long-term impacts on health, education, and opportunity. Preventing that trauma can change the course of a child’s life and that is why this work matters so much.
