Mid Michigan College: Tuition-Free Pathways Open Doors for Mid Michigan College Students

Mid Michigan College

Mid Michigan College is helping more students than ever achieve their educational goals through tuition-free programs like Michigan Reconnect and the Community College Guarantee (CCG). These initiatives remove significant financial barriers and make higher education more accessible to students across the region.

The Community College Guarantee (CCG) provides a tuition-free path for in-district students and substantial financial assistance for out-of-district students. Eligible students can also receive an additional $1,000 to help cover expenses such as textbooks and transportation. Recent high school graduates have 15 months after graduation to begin their college journey and take advantage of this opportunity.

The Michigan Reconnect program offers tuition-free access to in-district community colleges for residents 25 years of age or older who do not already have a college degree. For both in-district and out-of-district students, Reconnect covers tuition and fees after other financial aid has been applied which significantly reduces the cost of attendance.

Both programs work alongside traditional financial aid options, including federal and state grants and loans, to ensure that students can pursue their education with minimal financial stress. To apply, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov and those interested in Michigan Reconnect must submit a separate application through the State of Michigan.

Mid Michigan College also offers a wide range of student support services, including career exploration and planning, academic advising, mental health counseling, technology and transportation assistance, and access to the College’s on-campus food pantry. These resources ensure that students are supported both inside and outside of the classroom.

Students can choose from a variety of programs and pathways that prepare them for in-demand careers or seamless transfer to four-year institutions. With flexible scheduling, small class sizes, and caring faculty and staff, Mid provides an environment where every student can succeed.

Prospective students can learn more about tuition-free opportunities, financial aid options, and the enrollment process by visiting midmich.edu/financial-aid or contacting Admissions at admissions@midmich.edu or (989) 386-6661.
