“It’s so fun to see the smiles as customers drive through,” said Monica King, CEO of GLI. “Many are making the drive to relive fond memories, and we can’t wait to see more.”
Based in Grand Rapids, GLI is an economic development corporation wholly owned by the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi, also known as the Gun Lake Tribe. GLI manages a private, non-gaming portfolio of equity and debt investments in real estate and operating companies.
GLI and Alpena business owner and developer Jeff Konczak co-owns the restaurant, operating under the name HNN Holdings, LLC.
“I’ve driven under those red roofs many times in the past, but today’s experience was unlike any other,” said Jeff Konczak, Owner of B Cubed Manufacturing. “The team worked hard to get to this point, so it’s great that we can all be here today and experience the fruits of our labor.”
Konczak, a longtime business owner and developer in Northeast Michigan, owns B Cubed Manufacturing. B Cubed makes modular drive-thru buildings, most notably for Biggby Coffee’s B Cubed drive-thru concept.
HNN Holdings hopes to begin construction of its Alpena location soon. The company has not announced plans for future locations but is actively exploring opportunities.
