LANSING, Mich. — LAFCU, a Michigan-based credit union, has been named one of the 2025 Best Places to Work for Women by Best Companies Group, a national award program that recognizes employers that support, empower and advance women in the workplace.

The award is based on employee feedback. At LAFCU, women make up more than 70% of the workforce and 67% of the executive leadership team. Results show that 92% of women surveyed are satisfied with LAFCU as their employer, 95% say the organization fosters a culture of diversity, and 91% are satisfied with its benefits package.

“The Best Places to Work for Women winners demonstrate leadership in equity, opportunity and retention. These workplaces excel in creating environments where women employees thrive,” said Jaime Raul Zepeda, executive vice president of Best Companies Group + COLOR Magazine. “We are pleased to certify this honor that recognizes employers who know, recognize and appreciate top female talent. Congratulations to LAFCU and the other winners.”

Patrick Spyke, LAFCU CEO, said the recognition validates what employees have long known.

“At LAFCU, women are not just represented — they are leading, shaping strategy and driving innovation across our organization, communities and the financial services sector,” Spyke said. “This honor reflects our commitment to creating a workplace where every woman has the opportunity to succeed, contribute and grow. It affirms that our culture is inclusive and empowering.”

The recognition adds to LAFCU’s record of workplace honors, including being named three times as one of the Best Credit Unions to Work For. At a time when women across the United States continue to face challenges such as pay inequity and limited advancement opportunities, LAFCU is recognized as a model of what is possible when equity and inclusivity are at the core of an organization.
