Bricks Flicks

The six-day extravaganza continues Tuesday, August 12th with BRICKS FLICKS“, a family-oriented party sponsored by Huntington Bank at the nostalgic US 23 Drive-In theater on Fenton Road.

Join us on Tuesday, August 13th, 2024, at the Historic US 23 Drive-in, located on Fenton Road between Hill Road and Maple Road. “Bricks Flicks” is a family-oriented party brought to you by our Sponsor, Huntington Bank.

The FREE event is open to Classic Cruisers, and the public and has no charge for entry. Gates open at 3 pm. Parking for Family vehicles will be to the rear of the theater lot, leaving the front parking spaces for the Cruisers during the car show. Spectators may move to any open spot after the car show, which will be from 5 pm until dusk.

Alcohol is prohibited. Pop-up canopies must be placed either in front of or behind your vehicle. This is necessary because of the limited number of parking spaces and the large number of participants. Canopies must be taken down when the movie begins, and absolutely NO GRILLS are allowed.

The Movie for 2025 is Road Rally Racers, this heartwarming animated adventure follows Zhi, a determined young sloth with a passion for speed. When his beloved grandmother’s home is threatened with demolition, Zhi takes on the unthinkable: entering the legendary Silk Road Rally to win the grand prize and save the day.

Facing off against the flashy and unbeatable champion Vainglorious, Zhi teams up with a former racing legend for one final shot at victory. Full of humor, heart, and high-speed thrills, Slo-Mo is a story about believing in yourself, no matter how slow you start. Whether you’re a fan of fast cars or feel-good stories, Slo-Mo is the perfect ride for dreamers of all ages!

Rolling Cruise & Roll On In

On Wednesday, the Collector cars are invited to join in on the fun. This year’s Grand Marshal is a Genesee County resident and a fantastic person, Ed Benning. Ed is the GM/CEO of the Mass Transportation Authority. (MTA). See him and the Back to the Bricks special presentation at the Roll On In event, presented by the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce at the Grand Blanc High School.

Grand Blanc High School | 4 PM – 8 PM

We will have our Grand Marshal Ed Benning and family, Mayor of Flint Sheldon Neeley, Mayor John Creasey, for Grand Blanc, Local Police officers from surrounding precincts, our Chairman of the Board Al Jones, Vice Chairman of the Board Ralph Messer, and other Board of Directors, President of Back to the Bricks Amber Taylor, and many, many others.

Back to the Bricks will also be honoring all local police departments for their dedication and service to our communities. On top of this, we are THRILLED to welcome the District Four Senior Little League softball team, who recently came back from the World Series as CHAMPIONS! They accomplished this in dominating fashion as well, going undefeated with a 7-0 record while outscoring their opponents 82-5, which includes five shutouts. 13 of the 16 players on the roster are from our viewing area, including Owosso, Fenton, Lake Fenton, Clio, Goodrich, and Grand Blanc. The team won the championship game 10-0 in five innings over Delaware on Sunday. Come meet the team, the coaches, and thank them for representing our fantastic community.

Following the special Presentation and proper kick-off to the Rolling Cruise, participants can enjoy food trucks, music, car club parking, vendors, and more.

The Rolling Cruise parade route will stretch from the historic “red bricks” of Saginaw Street in Downtown Flint through Burton and Grand Blanc Township to the City of Grand Blanc. Thousands will line the streets to see a diverse array of classic cars and vehicles.

Vehicles could join or leave the cruise AT WILL anywhere along the route in both directions from 4-9 PM. Police presence the entire time, no burnouts.

So grab your favorite gal, ‘rev those engines, and cruise on over to Grand Blanc High School from 4 – 8pm. The Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce is PROUD to be a PIT STOP at this year’s Back to the Bricks® Rolling Cruise!

Car buffs have another opportunity to watch or participate in the 2nd Day of the Rolling Cruise on Thursday. Burnouts and alcohol are strictly prohibited during the Rolling Cruises.

Friday August 15th

Cruise “N” Concert

The excitement continues on Friday, August 15th as the Cruise “N” Concert returns to Downtown Flint, with a FREE Concert back on the Bricks!!!

The excitement continues on Friday, August 15th as the FREE Family-Fun Cruise “N” Concert returns to Downtown Flint.

Saginaw Street and the surrounding side streets will be closed to regular traffic at 3:00 PM in preparation for the biggest and best FREE concert ever, and to provide plenty of parking for collector cars. Bring your Classic Car, your lawn chairs, and join the Party. Come early!

There will be plenty to see and do before the show starts. Check out the cars. Adding to the festive atmosphere, local restaurants and bars will be open, and additional food and automotive vendors will be available on the Flat Lot from 3 PM to 9 PM.

Back to the Bricks® welcomes everyone to downtown Flint starting at 3pm for the “Special” parking on Saginaw Street in between Kearsley and 1st. We encourage everyone to join in, cruise to Downtown Flint. Explore the Restaurants and Bars, and get ready to rock and roll. 

The show begins at 6:00 pm, and is brought you by Big John Steak and Onion, and Tonic Events. Opening act is the Regulators who will heat up the stage for your headliner for the night, Packin’ Heat. Come watch them all ROCK THE NIGHT AWAY.

Saturday August 16th

Main Event Day!!!

Drivers can begin arriving at 6 am in the staging area on Fifth Avenue at Saginaw and Harrison Streets to secure a spot for the SATURDAY SHOW. Cars will be escorted in around 8 am to find their place on the bricks.

Coffee Beanery will be on hand to get you all FUELED up for the show!

The Opening Ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a rousing salute to our veterans and active-duty personnel. A Color Guard accompanied by some of America’s finest will march from the south on Saginaw Street. At the same time, a procession of flags and military personnel will proceed to the north of the Statue Plaza in the center of downtown Flint, where the two groups will converge. 

This special ceremony, featuring the FSO Brass Quintet, will honor the men and women of the armed forces for their service and sacrifice to our country. BttB honors those who protect and defend the freedoms we hold dear, past and present, those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, and those who continue to answer the call. The program will include live music from the FIM FSO Brass Quintet, an Invocation, and an inspiring performance of our National Anthem by Lateena Martin.

This year, thanks to our Veterans Shirt Sponsor, Huntington Bank, we will be giving away 400 limited-edition Veterans’ T-shirts. Sizes are limited, no holds, Veterans must pick up from the table following the Opening Ceremony. Must show some form of a card, hat, etc. to receive a shirt.

In addition to Amber Taylor, President of Back to the Bricks, the stage will feature Grand Marshal Ed Benning, Mayor Sheldon Neeley, and other special guests.

This year’s Opening Ceremony will feature a heartfelt tribute honoring a beloved member of the Back to the Bricks® family, Joe Rundell, the renowned artist who sculpted all of the Automotive Pioneer Statues that grace Downtown Flint and the surrounding areas in which they are stationed. Gary Fisher, President of the Genesee County Historical Society, will speak about this special moment of remembrance and celebration. Joe Rundell’s Family will unveil the newest statue in the collection: ABC Hardy, a tribute that Joe was able to complete just before his passing in March 2025. This powerful addition honors both an automotive legend and the incredible legacy of the artist who brought these pioneers to life in bronze.

Back to the Bricks® remains deeply committed to honoring the heroes who protect and defend our freedoms, making the Opening Ceremony a highlight for both patriotic pride and community unity. Once the Opening Salute concludes, the streets of Downtown Flint transform into a celebration of automotive excellence. The Main Display Area will feature thousands of the finest classic cars, custom builds, hot rods, and dream machines, drawing enthusiasts from across the Country.

The Main display area, also known as the Flat Lot has something for everyone. Beginning with the opening ceremony, you will want to be there to experience the excitement, see the Feature Cars, check out the automotive vendors, and taste the delicious food that is synonymous with Back to the Bricks ®, one of the best Classic Car Events in the Nation. 

During the Main Event on Saturday, there will be a Swap Meet on the corner of Court and Saginaw Streets, and alongside this will be the Vintage Camper Display.
