The next generation of cellular technology, 5G, will power networks at speeds far greater than the current 4G can handle. BI Intelligence, Business Insider’s premium research service, expects 5G, when fully deployed, to increase network capacity to handle the increase in data that will be transmitted by the more than 34 billion internet connected devices on the planet by 2020. And 24 billion of those will be IoT devices.
