2016 Strategic Business Luncheon – Interview with Keynote Speaker

2016 Strategic Business Luncheon - Marianne O'Brien MarkowitzJeffrey Mosher is sitting for Chris Holman at the 2016 Strategic Business Luncheon. He takes time to interview the keynote speaker for this event, Marianne O’Brien Markowitz, Regional Administrator for the Small Business Association’s (SBA) Midwest Region. Marianne discusses many of the events that SBA will be involved in over the coming months. SBA has become innovation oriented in helping small businesses across the country and what they are doing for disaster relief, especially in the City of Flint.

Ms. Markowitz discusses lenders and contracting, including women-owned contracting. She is optimistic for Michigan businesses. Michigan SBDC has 10 centers, which is a gold standard and one of the strongest small business development networks that she has seen. Complimenting this in Michigan, is nine active and talented SCOREchapters, as well three Women’s Business Development Centers across this region. Michigan is rich in resources!

Flint is currently a focus and SBA is supporting business there and helping communicate the message that Flint is open for business.
