100K Ideas receives a $35,000 grant to support their work to
help innovators take their businesses from idea to market.
Flint, MI, January 2022 – 100K Ideas has received a $35,000 grant from the Consumers Energy Foundation. This grant will
be used to support 100K Ideas’ current and future clients as
they embark on their entrepreneurial journey.
“The Consumers Energy Foundation is thrilled to support the Flint community’s most creative minds, an extension of our efforts to build strong businesses and communities across Michigan,” said Carolyn Bloodworth, the Consumers Energy Foundation’s secretary/treasurer. “We hope this grant for 100K Ideas will help more entrepreneurs turn their ideas into reality and make Flint an even better place to work and live.”
The grant will support the expansion of 100K Ideas’ direct client services at all four locations
across Flint, including the Ferris Wheel building, the Flint Development Center, Berston Field
House and the LatinX Technology and Community Center. These services include idea research assessments, CAD design, prototyping, concept sketches, logo design, and website design. The grant will also support their outreach efforts to ensure residents are aware of the organization and the help 100K Ideas can provide. Lastly, this grant will help increase the creation of small
businesses and support the growth of existing small businesses in the community.
“We are incredibly grateful and excited to partner with Consumers Energy,” Brandee Cooke-Brown, Executive Director. “These funds will help us continue to expand our programming in the region. It will also help bring us closer to our goal of providing the opportunity to launch a
business to any innovator regardless of their previous experience or background.”
