This quarter has been defined by meaningful progress, historic milestones, and the strength of our mid-Michigan community.
As we celebrate a century of aviation at Capital Region International Airport, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who joined us for our Centennial Celebration earlier this month. Together, we honored our beginnings in 1926 and reflected on how far we’ve come — evolving into mid-Michigan’s gateway to the world. We invite you to revisit those moments and view photos from this special occasion.
With summer underway and our 100-year anniversary continuing throughout the year, there has never been a better time to #FlyLansing.
Choosing to fly local is about more than convenience — though travelers certainly benefit from shorter security lines, easy parking, and a welcoming team. It is also a powerful investment in our region. Every ticket purchased at LAN supports job creation, expanded air service, enhanced amenities, and strengthens the airport’s nearly $1 billion annual economic impact across our community.
You’ll begin to see that investment come to life through projects like our Roadway Improvements Project. This project will improve access, ensure our infrastructure keeps pace with growing traffic demands, and position the region for continued economic development and investment.
As always, our priority is providing a seamless, high-quality travel experience. In the coming months, we encourage you to follow our social media channels for timely updates on roadway changes and wayfinding information so you can plan your travel with confidence.
Thank you for being part of this remarkable journey. We are proud of our past, energized by our progress, and focused on a strong and vibrant future.
Here’s to the next 100 years of connecting our region to the world.

On June 13, Capital Region International Airport proudly marked a major milestone — its 100th anniversary — with a vibrant centennial celebration that brought together community members, aviation enthusiasts, and local partners. The event highlighted the airport’s rich history, from its early days serving mid-Michigan to its evolution into a modern transportation hub connecting the region to destinations across the country.
Attendees enjoyed aircraft displays, family-friendly activities, and opportunities to learn about the airport’s role in supporting economic growth and regional connectivity. The celebration also honored the many individuals, businesses, and organizations that have contributed to the airport’s success over the past century.
As Capital Region International Airport looks ahead to its next 100 years, the centennial served as both a tribute to its legacy and a reminder of its continued commitment to innovation, service, and community partnership.

Happy work #LANniversary, Nicole Noll-Williams!
We aren’t just celebrating a work anniversary; we are celebrating the strategic evolution of the Capital Region International Airport under the leadership of our President and CEO, Nicole Noll-Williams.
Taking the helm in 2021, Nicole has spearheaded a strategic shift toward modernization and expansion, ensuring LAN remains at the forefront of the aviation industry. Her integrated, forward-looking approach has turned a 100-year legacy into a billion-dollar regional powerhouse.
- Infrastructure Powerhouse | We have successfully secured over $70M in grant funding, fueling critical projects like the $8.1M cargo ramp expansion and $9.4M in roadway improvements to strengthen our regional logistics.
- Expanding Our Horizons | LAN has seen the launch of Breeze Airways, the upcoming return of United Airlines, and the expansion of the international service with Apple Vacations.
- Innovating for the Future | The team put the airport at the forefront of the “next-gen” era by installing Michigan’s first electric aircraft charger at LAN.
- Economic Catalyst | We have managed an asset that supports 7,300+ regional jobs and generates $1B in annual economic impact.

We’d like to congratulate to our Capital Region Airport Authority board member Bob Showers, ex-officio (Clinton County), for receiving the Lansing Regional Chamber Growth Leader of the Year Award!
This inaugural award was granted at the LRCC Policy Forum and honors leaders who have advanced growth, collaboration, and regional opportunity across Lansing.
His outstanding service in the many positions he has held across his career, the community, CRAA’s board, and beyond, has made a tremendous impact in shaping the economic development and infrastructure in our region.
Thank you for your incredible efforts, Bob!

The Capital Region Airport Authority is thrilled to support Niowave’s expansion in Lansing with its new facility right on airport property. Niowave develops cutting-edge technologies to increase the supply of life-saving radioisotopes for cancer patients everywhere.
This win is helping to attract new investment, add 70 new high-wage jobs, and drive economic growth in mid-Michigan, further cementing the region as a leader in biotech and life sciences.
We were also proud participants of the MSU Alumni Association Travel Showcase event and the MSU Alumni Association Grandparents University event earlier this month. If you stopped by our booth to grab some swag, learn about #FlyLansing, or just say hello, we thank you!
While the LAN team loves to travel, there is nothing we love more than being out in the community, hearing your travel stories, and meeting friendly faces in the heart of the region we serve. As we look back on a century of connecting Lansing to the world, we are constantly reminded of our vibrant community as our foundation.
Keep an eye out for the #LANfam at upcoming events this summer!
