International Business and TradeIn this segment of the globalEDGE Business Beat on the Michigan Business Network, the gBB host, Tomas Hult, reports on a recent benchmarking study on “Globalization”. The focus is on what companies are currently doing to be competitive in the global business marketplace and what they plan or forecast to do in the next 5 to 20 years to stay competitive.

Data from 3206 company managers, representing U.S. multinational corporations, and 1692 customers of these multinational corporations are compared, in order to gauge what companies plan to do, and what customers expect them to do. Globalization is a function of national differences, global trade and investment environment, global monetary system, strategy and structure of international business, and international business functions. A comparison is made on each of these elements that drive how global a company can be.

globalEDGE Business Beat, hosted by Jade Sims, covers discussions with a wide range of global leaders in business, government, and academe to provide information on the latest thoughts, tools, and markets that are flourishing globally.
